Terms

The agreement between you and Murmr, in plain words.

What Murmr is

Murmr is a private journal you can talk to. It is offered as a web app you can add to your phone’s home screen, and as an Android app. You must be 16 or older to use it.

Your account

Keep your sign-in to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. If you think someone else has got in, change your password or sign in with a fresh code and tell us.

Your content

Everything you write, say or photograph in Murmr stays yours. You give Murmr only the permission it needs to store it, show it back to you, and, for the AI features you turn on, send it to the providers named in the privacy page. You can withdraw that at any time by turning a feature off, or by deleting the content.

Murmr is not a clinician

The reflections, lenses and answers are written by a language model from your own entries. They can be wrong, and they are not medical, psychological or legal advice. If you are in difficulty, please talk to a person who can help.

Plans and payment

If a paid plan (Murmr Plus) is offered, its price and what it includes are shown before you pay, payments are handled by Stripe or Google Play, and you can cancel a subscription at any time from Settings; it runs to the end of the period already paid for. Free time given by a code ends when the code says, and nothing renews.

Fair use

Don’t use Murmr to store material that is unlawful, to attack the service, or to try to reach anyone else’s journal. Murmr may suspend accounts that do.

Availability and changes

Murmr is a small product and is offered as it is. It aims to be up all the time and honest when it isn’t. Features may change; if something you rely on is going away, the app will say so first. Export is always there.

Ending things

You can delete your account at any time from Settings, and everything goes with it. Murmr may close an account that breaks these terms, and will say why.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Murmr is not liable for loss that comes from relying on the app or from it being unavailable. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited.

Who you are agreeing with

Murmr is made and run by an independent maker, not a company, from the United Kingdom. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and nothing in them takes away rights you have under the law where you live.
